BIOGRAPHY

[Personality]

[Observant] [Obedient] [Passionate] [Meticulous] [Manipulative] [Mostly practical] [Disconnected from self]

A musician at heart, Homuro is well versed in various genres of music, though taking a better liking
to classics. (Not just Classical, but classic rock, ect.) He is easily found lost in his thoughts
listening to music on his old phone. When every fiber of him isn't dedicated to music, he seeks
amusement in teasing his friends. He's the type to look after his friends and see to their needs
rather than being the one looked after. Being that he feels he could empathise with others easily than
he could identify his own feelings. He's quite thoughtful and obedient, if someone asks a favor of him he
makes sure to try and see it out to the best of his abilities or direct them to someone who's more up to the task.

Though nice, he is sly. He won't hesitate to lie when necessary (though not often) and will deflect opinionated questions away from him.
  • He isn't in touch with his own feelings, when it isn't related to music. Things such as "i like ____" or "i love _____" that isn't unconditional such as familial love is unidentifiable to him. To elaborate, he isn't sure how to make of his emotions or feelings when asked about them- he is unable to identify them. Being so, coping with not having the ability to identify his emotions leaves him easily stressed when faced with personal problems. He doesn't know what he wants, but feels like he knows others better than himself. Things such as romantic interests and such are too embarassing for him to fully explore, as he does not want to mistake a feeling of friendly familiarity with love.

[History]

    P r e l u d e .
    One lonely child

Homuro grew up in Tokyo. His family was small, immediately it consisted of his parents and their parents. His parents were both salary workers. Homuro never made a real fuss when he was young, in fact, the only time he made a real fuss was when he wanted his first instrument. Being the first and only grandson for his father's side, they cherished him deeply, and in turn he adored them deeply as well. Homuro's love for music stemmed from his grandfather's influence.

A stem of devotion
Homuro's relationship with his grandparents is one that is filled with admiration and devotion. He visited them often when he was young. Every time he had a break from school, his parents would ask him where he wanted to go, and every time it was the same answer- to visit his grandparents in Yanagawa. He told his grandparents everything; from what he did in Tokyo to what he did in school and the field trips he'd go on. He even shared things such as friends he had or crushes he may have developed in time. To him, they were very precious.

One autumn when they were cleaning out his grandparent's storage shed, Homuro was playing hide and seek with his grandfather, there, he managed to squeeze through a tight space to hide. What he found instead was hidden treasures from his grandfather's youth, stashed away in his beloved grandparents' shed. After revealing his hiding spot intentionally, he dragged a bag that was larger than he was outside.

At first, not knowing better, he thought his grandfather was a murderer. What else could this large and heavy bag hold other than a body? He started crying, not knowing how to feel about his grandpa anymore. After questioning, his grandfather and parents laughed at him. They unzipped the bag together to reveal a KWM 2000 Cello, in it's lavish mahogany finish and glory. Homuro's eyes glittered in excitement and an exhilleration that he hadn't felt before except when going on a rollercoaster at the amusement park with his dad. This instrument was larger than he was. Larger than any guitar he saw on tv. Noticing his grandson's interest, he took it out and gave his family an open air concert.

Completely captivated, Homuro couldn't help but keep staring at the instrument the rest of the day as they cleaned the shed out. Every half hour he'd sneak back to look at the cello. At the end of the day at dinner, his grandparents gave him an envelope with 500 yen inside as a good job for helping them. After being rewarded this prize, Homuro returned to Tokyo with his parents and asked for a cello. He thought the whole ride home that the 500 yen would be enough to buy one. Little did he know that his grandparents actually gave his parents enough money to purchase a school model cello for their dearest grandson. Since then, Homuro has always been involved with music.

Final ensemble
Homuro was in the midst of his junior high years when he won his first series of local concerts. Because of his grandfather's health steadily declining due to age, much to Homuro's dismay, Homuro dedicated most of his time to his music. The next summer, Homuro's grandfather passed away, leaving his grandmother living alone in their home in Yanagawa. Devastated at the lost of his precious grandfather, and worried for his grandmother, Homuro pleaded for his parents to let him live with his grandmother.

Homuro transfered to a middleschool in Yanagawa in his final year of junior high.

He wasn't going to let his grandmother live alone in an empty house. He was worried because of the saying, when one dies, the spouse follows after soon from loneliness.

                                                                                                                                                                                                            Holding something with two hands
Life in Yanagawa was peaceful for Homuro and His grandmother. He made sure to take extra care of her in place of his grandpa; reminding her when to take her vitamins and medicine, making her tea everyday, and everything she needed in order to be cared for. He handled most of the chores, cleaning, taking out the trash, and buying groceries, ect. Eventually he picked up a job at a music record shop he used to visit every summer when he came to visit his grandparents. Upon the death of a fellow classmate, the student council president, Homuro observes how all of his peers cope differently with the passing of someone that was not quite close but not quite far as well. Nonetheless, as he aproaches his final year in Highschool, he is reluctant to go to university and leave his grandmother behind, though she insists he does.
